How your data is handled

YTScriptPro is designed to keep your work in your own browser. This page explains exactly what is stored, what leaves your device, and when.

Last updated: October 14, 2026

This describes how the YTScriptPro software behaves. Each installation is run by its own operator (the person or organisation hosting this website), who may add their own hosting, logging or analytics. If you are not sure who runs this instance, ask them before entering sensitive information.

No accounts, no payments

There is no sign-up, login, user profile, subscription or payment processing. The app does not ask for your name or email address, and it does not include advertising or third-party analytics.

What is stored in your browser

  • Projects — scripts, tool results, titles, tags, favorites and version history are stored in your browser's IndexedDB database for this website.
  • Preferences — theme, default tone, format, duration, language, speaking rate and editor settings are stored in localStorage.
  • Drafts — the generator and tool forms remember what you typed (localStorage), and the last tool result is kept for the current tab session (sessionStorage).

This data stays on this device and browser. It is not synchronised between devices or browsers, and it is not encrypted by the app — anyone with access to your browser profile can read it. Clearing your browser's site data, using private browsing, or some browser storage policies can delete it. API keys and provider settings are never stored in your browser.

What is sent when you generate

When you press a generate button or run an AI action, the text needed for that request — your brief, the script or section being edited, reference notes, and tool inputs — is sent to this website's server at /api/generate. The server forwards it to the AI provider configured by the operator and returns the result to your browser.

  • Hosted providers (such as the Anthropic API): your text is processed by that provider under its own terms and privacy policy. This is not fully private, and the operator may pay usage costs for each request.
  • Self-hosted or local models (an OpenAI-compatible server run by the operator): requests go to that model server instead of a hosted AI company. Whether that keeps data on a particular machine depends on where the operator runs it.

Nothing is sent to an AI provider when you write, edit, search, export or import — only when you explicitly generate or run a connection test. Do not paste confidential or personal information you would not want an AI provider to process.

Server-side processing and logs

  • The server does not store your briefs, scripts or generated results. It does not log request content.
  • If an unexpected server error occurs, only the type of error is written to the server log — not your text.
  • To limit abuse, the server counts generation requests per client network address. With the default in-memory limiter these counters live only in the server's memory for up to a day. If the operator enables the optional Upstash Redis limiter, counters keyed by network address are stored there and expire automatically (at most about a day).
  • Your hosting provider, reverse proxy or CDN may keep standard access logs (such as IP address, time and URL). That is controlled by the operator, not by this software.

Backups and imports

Exporting creates a JSON (or text/Markdown) file on your device. Importing reads a backup file in your browser, validates it, and adds the projects to local storage — the file is not uploaded to the server. By default, imported projects never overwrite existing ones unless you choose “Replace” for conflicts. Keep backup files somewhere safe; they contain your full project text.

Your choices

  • You can export, import and delete all projects and reset preferences at any time from Settings.
  • You can use every non-AI feature without sending anything to an AI provider.
  • Because there are no accounts, the operator has no copy of your projects to export or delete on your behalf.

Children

This service is not directed at children. Follow YouTube's own age requirements for creating content.

Changes

If the software's data handling changes, this page will be updated. It describes behaviour; it is not a guarantee of compliance with any particular law. Operators are responsible for their own legal obligations.
